" Thank you for all your work in helping us with this trip.  Things went very smoothly.  The drivers were all on-time, friendly, and professional. Our guide on Santiago was excellent.  The itinerary had us visiting the lava tunnel after the Pico Volcano hike.  The volcano hike took us longer than anticipated, and it was too late for that activity (and people were tired).  We decided to cancel the next day’s hike down to the coast (330 ft ascent, 4,000 ft descent, 7.5 miles) and do the lava tunnel the next morning, followed by a little additional time in Sao Felipe.  This was well received by the group as it provided a more leisurely time in the caldera, and time to enjoy the interesting town of Sao Felipe.  Thank you !"

" All the trails were correctly shown on the digital files. One other thing not to plan was our second hike on Sao Antao - the taxi was supposed to collect us from Andrea Panoramica and drive down the hill - the hotel owner told us he came early so we missed him. We did a loop from the hotel which covered most of the ground so worked out OK. We liked the fact that trails were often not typical tourist hikes and were very quiet. 
Our favourite hike was the long uphill walk on our last day in Sao Antao. When we got to the taxi pick up point on the road to Porto Novo there was a guest house that offers cold drinks which was a great place to stop and wait for the taxi.

This island hopping adventure allows you to discover 5 of the 9 islands of the archipelago so you get a good overview of life in Cape Verde. The trip may seem long - 12 days - but you have the freedom of choosing to either relax on some days or enjoy many extra-curricular activities. There are 5 out of the 12 days where you are free to simply meander through the towns and streets, laze on the beach and soak up the atmosphere at your pace. The island of Fogo is the experience that really stands out on this trip. It's as though time has stood still. The accommodation is basic, water scarce and no electricity after 11pm in the village.... I mean, who still lives like that? Well, you'll be surprised!
