Guided day trips

Guided day trips

Why choose a guided day trip?

Sometimes, it’s nice to not have to think about anything for a while, but just sit back and enjoy the ride (or walk!). Sometimes, you appreciate someone else making the decision on where to stop and have lunch. Sometimes, it’s just nice to have someone different to talk to for the day… and that is why we recommend either a guided walking day trip or a guided cycling day trip!

Our guides

Our guides are local guides, born and bred and proud of their region. They are English speaking and have all travelled across the globe, from Corsica to Ireland, the Himalayas, China and Lapland and have many fascinating tales to regale you with! No formal procedure to follow and no airs and graces, our guides are down-to-earth kind of people. You’ll be on first name terms within seconds and feel as though you’ve known them forever!

Whilst we, the track finders, create the initial walking and cycling day trip itineraries, we let the guides lead the way. They will take the time to get to know you at the start of the day, find out what you want to see and do and how fit you are (or are feeling on that particular day) and from there, they will tweak the itinerary just so. They may add a few kilometres of bike riding if you are the sporty type, or leave out a section of the itinerary if you would like to spend more time meandering through the villages, enjoying a long lunch or visiting a monument. We also let them decide where to go for lunch as they know most of the restaurant owners personally and will always make an excellent choice. Passionate about what they do and keen to share their knowledge with you, our guides are professional and eager with a great sense of humour.

Our guided day trips: walking and cycling

We offer guided walking day trips and guided cycling day trips of various levels of difficulty (from easy to challenging). We can lead you through the medieval perched villages, olive groves and lavender fields of Provence, up to the summit of the Mont Ventoux and even a day walking and kayaking along the river Sorgue. Lunch is always included (excluding drinks) and if you choose a cycling day trip, then we also include bike rental (hybrid or electric bikes) and if we can, we throw in a wine or olive oil tasting on route. All you need to do is show up at the designated meeting point, with a small backpack, rain/wind proof light jacket, comfortable shoes, sun cream, water and camera and you’re ready to be shown the way!
