About the Hiking in the Verdon gorges, Europe's grand canyon - Moderate trip

About the trip in Provence

Your self-guided Provence walking holiday: between Provence and the Alps, the Gorges du Verdon offers one of the most grandiose and striking landscapes under the Mediterranean sun. It is one of the most remarkable natural geological sites. The Verdon river and its turquoise waters meander through the mountains and forests. It is a middle mountain region, which offers both the charm of Provence and the freshness of alpine landscapes. Here the big larches and the green valleys mingle with the arid vegetation of Provence and overhang the gorges and the lake of Sainte Croix.

You hike in the heart of impressive cliffs reaching up to 700 meters high ! This itinerary allows you to discover the art of living in Provence and the pretty villages of Moustiers and Castellane, passing by La Palud and the Point Sublime at the entrance of the famous Martel trail.
Enjoy breathtaking panoramic hikes accessible to all,  and an optional bike loop on the "route des cretes", and an outing on Saint Croix Lake.

Please note : if you suffer from severe fear of heights, please contact us to get more information about the tour.
There is no real danger, however the belvedere of Rancoumas is not safety equipped. A small natural parapet allows you to appreciate the view on the gorges (the sheer drop is immediate without barriers): people sensitive to vertigo should not go.
