Walking in the Dordogne: castles, caves and villages of the Périgord Noir - guest reviews

Martin & Catherine - June 2025

" The combination of hard copy notes and confirmation of position via Alltrails/Hiiker/Wikiloc Apps worked well..There was only one occasion when the notes failed to pinpoint the route - but because we had the Apps we could work it out. Quite important to be comfortable with downloading and operating the maps BEFORE setting out
The walking routes were excellent. As it happened - it was hot in June and the routing through trees and shade was particularly welcome. The detailed descriptions gave us options to modify our daily plans and schedules. Worked well.
Great choices and excellent locations- with very good facilities and very friendly and welcoming staff/hosts. The swimming pools were faultless. Because of the well located accommodations - there.was a good choice of places to eat -and we found some gems.
The highlights for us : Confidence in the quality of your arrangements. Everything worked to plan. All the drivers turned up when expected - and we knew from early in the trip that the accommodation you selected would be of a high standard. So an excellent anxiety free holiday"

Verity & William - June 2025

" We loved the visit to Chateau Milandes and the hike from there to Domme. We also really like the hike from Les Eyzies to Montignac, except for the problem bit. All the hotels were very good. But we thought the combination of food and service at De L'Esplanade was exceptional. Also Rudd at Cro Magnon went out of his way for us. The special truffle pasta Jann made for me was much appreciated. All the food at the hotel restaurants where we ate was great. The chef/owner at L'Esplanade in Domme is fabulous and his wife is the perfect front of house leader. Highly recommend.
Nadia was terrific. So glad we took the extra days we added and the taxi the Brive at the end.
The highlights for us : Sarlat market. Chateau Milandes, Les Jardins de Marqueyssac. The hike from Castelnaud to Domme and Lascaux 4. Yes we would travel with you again and recommend you. Terrific overall quality. We compared you with 4-5 other vendors for the Dordogne.  Nadia was the clincher why we chose you."

Great landscapes, villages, chateaux, cleaness, the kindness of the Perigordians people, and above all the BB " Les petits Cousins du Quebec."
