Guided day trip in St Rémy de Provence

On this Provence day trip holiday, we leave the charming village of Saint Rémy by bike, where Van Gogh spent the last year of his life, and did some of his most important work. We cycle along quiet country roads, pedaling alongside the foot of the jagged Alpilles mountains. We pass vast farms and olive groves, including a working olive mill for a tasting. The Alpilles is the largest olive-oil producing region in France. Rounding the mountain we reach the perched village of Les Baux de Provence, the remains of its castle sitting dizzyingly above the valley below. After visiting the village and a nice lunch, we enjoy a wine tasting before a final exhilarating and winding descent back to Saint Rémy.

35km / 21.8 miles - Ascent: +250 m / Descent: -250 m - You meet your guide in the centre of Saint Rémy and start your cycling in Provence
- Depending on our pace, you will be back in Saint Rémy and finished by 4pm

The ride
- The total ride is 35km. The ride is suitable for beginner riders.
Most of the ride is flat, except a gradual climb of 3km to the perched village of Les Baux de Provence.

DO NOT FORGET TO BRING - You will need:
- Comfortable gym clothes are sufficient or you can choose to wear bicycle-specific clothing (bib-shorts and a cycling jersey)
- Rain/wind jacket in case of bad weather or Mistral wind, that can be stored in your saddle bag (recommended)
- Running shoes for flat pedals
- A small comfortable-collapsable backpack
- Sun hat, sun protection (hat, sun cream)
