France - Provence
Freewheeling & cycling through the Luberon and lavender fields
On this Provence guided day trip, your bike ride begins in the village of Bonnieux, which takes centre-stage in Peter Mayle’s "A Year in Provence". The Luberon mountains are sprinkled with some of the most majestic hilltop villages in the country, and this is a ride which includes a few: Roussillon, and its ochre-colored homes, Gordes, and its majestic golden-stone homes set dizzyingly above the Calavon valley, Ménerbes, and its elegant centuries-old buildings, and Lacoste, crowned by the ruins of the castle of the Marquis de Sade.
We take the time to visit each of the villages, cycling along back country roads lined with orchards and vines.
