Provence hiking : from the famous Luberon in Provence to the spectacular calanques of Cassis - guest reviews

Theresa & group of 7 persons - June 2026

" We had a wonderful time in Provence, and I truly have nothing to criticize. Overall, the experience exceeded our expectations, and we loved the variety of properties and locations throughout the trip. In short, we were very happy with all of the accommodations.
- Capelongue 5* in Bonnieux was the clear favorite among the group. The property is absolutely beautiful, and every aspect of our stay was exceptional.  The Beaumier properties are an excellent fit for this type of trip—perfect for a group seeking wellness, beautiful surroundings, great food, and a relaxed atmosphere.
- Hotel Mahogany 3* in Cassis was another standout. A few of the travelers are already talking about returning. The team was incredibly accommodating, and the location simply cannot be beaten. The beach club and restaurant directly in front of the hotel were fantastic. This area was also the setting for our favorite hike of the trip.
- The Renaissance 5* in Aix was a great addition to the itinerary. It provided a comfortable, modern option with amenities our group appreciated, including comfortable beds and convenient outlets. We also made good use of the pool during our stay and enjoyed having some downtime there.
- Sylvain - our guide for the half day walks - was absolutely fabulous. He adapted perfectly to the group's personalities and abilities and was such a pleasure to spend time with. He embraced our sense of humor and made everyone feel comfortable. The hikes were challenging, scenic, and well-paced. I especially appreciated the balance of shorter hikes allowing for time in the cities, and would recommend a similar approach for future groups.
- We also loved the cooking class in Chateauneuf. Julien and his colleague were fantastic hosts. The setting felt warm and welcoming, and we really enjoyed both their personalities and the class's flow. The winery stop was beautiful, and even those in the group who don't drink wine thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Thank you again for all of your hard work, patience, and support throughout the planning process. I would not hesitate to work with your team again or recommend your services to my colleagues. In fact, I would love to offer this itinerary again in the future, potentially allowing another group leader to host their own group. I truly believe this trip would appeal to a wide range of travelers."

The destination experts

This is a trip of contrasts. One the one hand, you have the pretty and rural provencal villages, with the old stone walls shining golden in the sun. You explore the medieval streets and alleys and spend 2 nights in the unique Auberge des Seguins, a step back to a simpler time, where nature supersedes technology and peace reigns. You then flip to the bustling seaside village of Cassis, and spend a couple of days on the waters edge, exploring the natural wonder of the Calanques. A trip between land and sea!
