- Have an extra night in Lisbon !
A free day to visit the beautiful capital of Portugal, once the centre of a large maritime empire from Brazil to Japan. Enjoy the narrow streets and alleyways, the small squares and belvederes and stroll through the historical quarters of Mouraria, Alfama and Chiado.
We recommend :
. Depending on your arrival time, take the number 28 tram line, the most spectacular line in Lisbon (terminal at Martm Moniz square or at Estrela), visit the Azulejos or Calouste Gulbekian museums
. Visit of São Jorge castle with the best panoramic views on Lisbon
. Opt for a guided tour of the city with a professional cultural guide on a theme of your choice : botanical, architechture, earthquake of 1755, Azulejos and the arts...
. Enjoy some traditional Fado music
Arrival on your own to Vila Nova de Milfontes. Depending on your inbound flight and your arrival time, we highly recommend having a pre-tour night in Lisbon or Faro to break up the journey as the private transfer lasts 2h30 minutes. Vila Nova de Milfontes is a beautiful white-washed town nestled between the Mira river estuary and the ocean. Your first port of call along the coast offering incredible sunsets. Enjoy a stroll by the sea and admire the sand dunes and long stretches of sandy beach.

Transfer (30 min) to Rogil. The walk starts along a « levada », an irrigation channel. The water from the Levada is used in part for agricultural purposes. This particular region is famous for sweet potato, cereal and vines. A walk through a beautiful pine forest leads to the stunning Amoreira beach, the trail then continues through the hills towards Aljezur, the capital of the Vicentine coast, with its narrow streets and medieval castle. We suggest visiting the medieval castle ruins in Aljezur.
Transfer from Sagres to Lagos. End of your trip in Lagos. Depending on your departure plans, enjoy some time in Lagos, a beautiful historic town, intimately linked to the history of sailors and pirates, forever present with the colourful trawlers who bring fish to the auction hall. The Avenida dos Descobrimentos leads you to the sea and to some of the most beautiful beaches in the Algarve. Meia Praia on the east coast is a 5km long stretch of white sand. To the west, there are plenty of smaller sandy beaches boasting clear waters and rocks sculpted by erosion that add to the charm. Beaches such as Batata, Pinhão, Dona Ana and Camilo are all accessible from the town centre and are small paradises waiting to be discovered.
