Day 1 - Bonjour Alsace: Arrival in Ribeauville

Welcome to Ribeauvillé, a charming medieval town nestled in the heart of Alsace’s wine country. From Strasbourg, take a regular regional train to Sélestat (about 30 mn), then connect to an hourly bus to Ribeauvillé (around 30–40 mn) or from Colmar, take the hourly bus line 68R016 directly to Ribeauvillé, with a journey time of about 35 minutes.or book a private t ransfer. Ribeauvillé offers picturesque cobblestone streets, colorful half-timbered houses, and lively market squares to explore upon arrival. Spend a relaxing evening enjoying local specialties and Alsatian wines, and prepare for your walking adventure starting tomorrow.

    Day 2 - Alsace wine Route : Ribeauvillé to Kaysersberg via Riquewihr

    Today’s hike immerses you in some of Alsace’s most enchanting landscapes and historic wine villages. Beginning in Ribeauvillé, stroll along scenic vineyard paths and forest trails to reach the picture-perfect medieval town of Riquewihr, famed for its beautifully preserved half-timbered. From there, continue onward to Kaysersberg, a charming village nestled in a verdant valley, known for its rich history and stunning architecture that seem frozen in time.  The town is famous for being the birthplace of Dr Albert Schweitzer, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1952. As you conclude your walk, be sure to treat yourself to a homemade blueberry tart—a cherished local delicacy and absolute must-try—paired perfectly with a glass of aromatic Gewürztraminer or a crisp late-harvest Riesling, both wines that wonderfully enhance the region’s distinct and delightful flavors.

    After a short transfer to the mountain village of Le Bonhomme, begin a steady ascent along scenic trails leading to the Duchesne Cemetery, a poignant World War I memorial. Continue to the summit of Tête des Faux, named after the beech forest that once covered it ,where panoramic views unfold alongside well-preserved German bunkers—silent witnesses to fierce battles fought on this strategic ridge. Descend through peaceful woodland paths to the enchanting Étang du Devin, a legendary mountain pond offering picnic tables—perfect for a relaxing lunch stop.     Day 7 - Hike the Petit Ballon loop: Alpine trails, summit views & Vosges scenery

    This circular hike starts near Auberge du Ried and follows well-marked trails through forests and upland pastures to the summit of Petit Ballon (1,272m) — one of the most iconic peaks in the Vosges. While slightly lower than the Grand Ballon, the region’s highest point, Petit Ballon offers uninterrupted views over the Alsace plain and surrounding mountains. The descent passes several traditional farm inns and historical landmarks before returning to the start via quiet woodland paths. A varied and rewarding mid-mountain hike. Upon returning to Auberge du Ried, be sure to enjoy a classic local blueberry tart — a perfect way to conclude your day. Afterwards, a taxi transfer will be arranged to take you to the charming town of Turckheim along the Alsace Wine Route.
