WEATHER
Brittany has a mild and changeable oceanic climate. There is sunshine, but it is often shared with clouds. Rainfall is frequent throughout the year, but generally short and followed by sunny spells. Winds are common, blowing mainly along the coast and bringing a feeling of coolness, even in summer.
• Spring: Mild and humid, with longer days and pleasant temperatures.
• Summer: Temperatures remain moderate (rarely above 25°C), perfect for long walks. Mornings and evenings are often cool, with morning mist on the coast.
• Fall: A mild and colorful season, with flamboyant landscapes. Rainfall may be more frequent.

Please check that your mobile/cell plan allows for calls & messages abroad A good option is to buy a “country Sim card” in a phone shop. It will cost you around 10€ / 15€ and will allow you to call local phone numbers with internet access

The currency is the €uro. Please ensure to have some cash with you as there aren’t always ATM machines in small villages. Tips are always included (different than in Canada and USA) but always appreciated. Please note that many restaurants in France do not serve food all day Many shops are closed on Sundays, supermarkets are usually open until midday

What is the climate in Brittany in France ?
The climate is extremely mild, especially along the coast, with noticeable temperature differences between summer and spring/autumn. It can rain and be sunny in the same day. You need to be well equipped for all weather.
What are the market days in Perros‑Guirec?
In the morning:
• Tuesday to Saturday: the fish market (halle aux poissons – direct sales from fishermen) at the marina
• Tuesday morning: market at the Ploumanac’h harbor (from April to September)
• Wednesday morning: market at the marina
• Friday morning: town‑centre market (the main market)
• Sunday morning: La Clarté market
What is the difference between crepe and galette in the restaurants ?
The galette is made with buckwheat flour and is savoury, while the crêpe is made with wheat flour as is sweet. Both are equally delicious!
What are the specialties of the cuisine in Brittany?
From the traditional crêpe to the kouign‑amann, salted butter finds its way into every sweet treat. Brittany is also known for its Plougastel strawberries, artichokes, and Roscoff onions. And of course, fresh fish and seafood: oysters, mussels, clams and scallops.
