Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Paimpol

Arrive in Paimpol by train from either Guingamp or Saint Brieuc. Paimpol is an authentic Breton harbor with granite houses and colorful shutters, where the scent of seaweed and the history of fishermen fill the air. Its cobblestone streets, church, and lively docks make it a preserved village, blending old-world charm and art de vivre. The atmosphere is warm, lulled by the cries of seagulls and tales of the sea.

Day 2 - Walking to Beauport Abbey and an oyster farm & bar

A gentle walk to get you going! You leave Paimpol on foot and follow a well-marked panoramic path above the coast. You will no doubt cross paths with many locals out for their daily stroll. Your goal today is the beautiful 13th century Beauport Abbey where you can explore the grounds and admire the view across the bay.
You can choose to keep the walk short and sweet with a bus back to Paimpol, or add some more distance with a 45 mins out and back walk to an oyster farm & bar, where you can sit and enjoy the view over the bay, whilst sampling some seafood tapas with a glass of white wine (table at the oyster bar to be booked in advance. Closed on Saturdays). Walk back to Paimpol.

Day 3 - A day on beautiful Bréhat Island

Today, you can chose to explore the streets of Bréhat on foot or by bike. Vehicules are restricted on the island.
You catch the local bus from Paimpol to Arcouest Point ferry pier (15 mins -  ticket not included - extra transfer with supplement on Sunday)  then take a boat to Bréhat Island (10 mins - ticket not included).
There are 3 bike hire shops on the island, hybrid & ebikes available. Bréhat boasts an exceptional climate that allows for abundant and astonishing exotic vegetation to thrive. It is called "the Island of flowers" because it is home to many varieties of flowers, including the Agapanthus, a bluish-purple flower that is a symbol of the island, and hydrangeas. Loose yourself in the labyrinth of pretty streets and alleys and admire the beautiful houses and gardens along the way. A truly wonderful day! Boat back to Arcouest Point and then local bus back to Paimpol (tickets not included).

Extension idea : stay the night on Bréhat island
Book an extra night and stay on Bréhat Island (on day 3) and enjoy the peace and quiet. Once the last ferry departs Bréhat for the mainland, it’s just the tourists staying in the hotels and guest houses, and a few locals. Stroll through the quiet streets, pack a picnic and head to the beach for an incredible sunset, or enjoy dinner in one of the restaurants on the island. It’s a different ambiance, more relaxed and tranquil. After breakfast the following day, you catch the 1st ferry back to the mainland where a taxi will be waiting to collect your luggage and transfer it to Tréguier. You pick up the itinerary with the walk from Arcouest Point to Lézardrieux. Contact us for further details. 

Day 4 - From Arcouest Point to the fishing village of Loguivy & Lézardrieux

You catch the bus from Paimpol to Arcouest Point ferry pier (15 mins -  ticket not included - extra transfer with supplement on Sunday). From Arcouest Point and its fleet of islets protecting the island of Bréhat, you walk along the customs officers' path – the GR 34 - to the small port of Loguivy de la Mer, an important lobster fishing village in the early 20th century, with over 100 fishing boats in the port. The path then leads you up the Trieux estuary to the village of Lézardrieux, alternating between seafront, gentle ascents/descents, passages through woodlands, and some rocky areas depending on the tides. Transfer at the end of the walk in Lézardrieux to Tréguier.

Day 5 - The Pointe du Chateau hiking trail

This coastal hike offers dazzling views of the rocks sculpted by the sea over the centuries. Let your imagination run wild and find forms such as Napoleon, Mayan masks, or dolphins in the rock formations. Enjoy a standing-on-the-edge-of-the-world feeling from the "Pointe du Chateau", a vast plateau marking the most northerly point in northern Brittany and admire the panoramic views, and tremble at the edge of the "Gouffre de Castel Meur" as the waves crash through a deep slash in the rocks. You will be blown away by these wildly sublime landscapes. Transfer at the end of the walk back to Tréguier.

Day 6 - To the famous Pink Granite Coast of Brittany

Transfer after breakfast to Perros Guirec (30 mins). Perros Guirec captivates with its turquoise-hued beaches, lined with pink granite rocks and fine sand, where the light sparkles on the water at high tide. Its charm also lies in the narrow streets, where granite houses with blue shutters, Belle Époque villas, and quaint local shops create an atmosphere that is both authentic and refined. Its lively and colorful marina is ideal for leisurely strolls past fishing boats & seafood terraces with a welcoming ambiance that perfectly embodies the maritime spirit of the Pink Granite Coast.
You can leave your bags at your hotel and set out on your walk. 
You begin in Perros Guirec, where you can admire the beautiful architecture of the houses and their pristine floral gardens. You then walk along the magnificent GR34 hiking trail nicknamed the ‘Sentier des Douaniers’ - the Custom Officers’ path - as the officers used to patrol the coastline to catch smugglers. The GR leads you through the maze of pink granite chaos, incredible rock formations shaped over time by natural erosion that have taken on strange and fantastical shapes. Breathtaking views guaranteed! Walk back to Perros Guirec.

Day 7 - Free day: boat excursion to the 7 Islands and beach day

Today is a relaxing day, with time to enjoy the beach, stroll around Perroc Guirec and enjoy a boat excursion. The day is yours to plan as you please! 
. For the boat excursion (not included): embark on a 1h45 excursion exploring this remarkable natural site. The "Sept-Îles archipelago" form France’s largest seabird reserve. Over 25,000 pairs of seabirds from around 30 species find refuge here, including the northern Gannet (the only colony in France), Atlantic Puffin, Common Murres, European Shags and Razorbills. You also cruise along the pink granite coast in Ploumanac’h for another spectacular sighting of the infamous rock formations.

Day 8 - Ile Renote Peninsula

You catch the bus from Perros Guirec to Sainte Anne ( 20 min ride - private transfer included on the superior version - extra transfer with supplement on Sunday as no busses). Breathtaking views as you circle the Renote peninsula along a well marked hiking trail. The granite rocks a reminder of the walk the day before. You then continue following the wild and beautiful coastline along the GR34 panoramic hiking trail to Landrellec. Plenty of picnic spots along the itinerary.
Transfer at the end of the walk to Trébeurden, a picturesque Breton village where pink cliffs meet turquoise waters, blending sandy beaches with breathtaking coastal trails.  This charming authentic seaside spot captivates with its wild beauty, hidden coves, and a laid-back vibe perfect for surfers and nature lovers.

Day 9 - From Trebeurden to Lannion

The path leads along the clifftops and down to pretty beaches with plenty of picnic spots, swimming opportunities or a rest on the sand. The second part of the trail is along a well maintained and picturesque towpath that leads to to the centre of Lannion, with its picturesque streets lined with half-timbered houses and remarkable monuments. Transfer back from Lannion to Trébeurden.

Day 10 - End of the trip in Lannion
