" We loved the tour! Such a great way to explore the beautiful French countryside. We had never heard of Gorges du Verdon but were so happy to spend a week there. The bike guy and all hotel operators were so friendly and helpful. And the perfect weather helped too!
All suggestions about restaurants and extra excursions were great. The only suggestion that I would make was the description of the restaurant at Chateau de Trigance. We dined there one night and had an excellent meal. However it was described as typical local cuisine. We found it to be quite different- using local ingredients but very adventurous, molecular cuisine with many sauces and condiments such as basil sand or chipotle foam. Everything was delicious but we did not want to eat there a second night. The only other place in town was Le Piccolo, which was simple, perfect for the second evening.
The highlights for us : Staying in a castle, exploring beautiful scenery by bike, kayaking on a sunny day, the creperie in Rougon, the diversity of rides each day.

" Of all the accommodation, my preference was for the Auberge. We started in rather posh accommodation and ended up in very compact dwellings at the end. The description of the 2nd day’s ride was the most sportif, perhaps demanding might be more accurate. I think a cautionary note perhaps that for over 80 year olds, this is a moderate plus tour, quite arduous. The additional sightseeing trips included in the rides were for young people, too much for us as well as the cycling. We managed them on our days ‘off’. The Gorges themselves were stupendous. Stunning and after the Gorges, the rest of France was rather tame!!
