What lakes should you visit when travelling to the Italian lake region?

Lake Garda

Lake Garda is the biggest and most well-known lake in Italy. Enjoy walking through the many colourful lake side villages with their narrow, paved streets, discovering the tiny islands dotted about the lake and admiring the light playing on the water. After WWII, Sir Winston Churchill chose this lake as his retreat.

Lake Como

This incredible lake shaped like a "Y" has perhaps the most famous lake side dwellings such as Villa Carlotta, Villa Balbianello and the glitzy Villa Bellagio and has attracted some of the most influential aristocrats of the Renaissance period.  For the architectural or horticultural enthusiasts, this is the lake for your self- guided walking holiday!

Lake Maggiore:

The second largest lake in Italy, Lake Maggiore boasts a mild climate and is home to the beautiful Borromean islands.  Stunning villas and majestic palaces are dotted along the lake shore and the snow-capped peaks of the Alps paint a dramatic backdrop. A walking holiday in Italy to remember.
