Cycling from Van Gogh's Provence to the Luberon - guest reviews

"  I wanted to write and thank you to you.  All went so smoothly. We extended our itinerary with the loop rides as they were our favourite days, especially the 75km out of L’Isle sur la Sorgue. So glad we did.
Autumn was a great time to ride - I think we may have been lucky to avoid some rain - cool mornings, warm afternoons, blue skies, perfect. Also roads were pretty quiet without the peak summer tourists. Some of the little villages were pretty sleepy so we go the hang of that and ensured we had supplies on board or picked up food when we could.
Hotels were good - glad we upgraded the hotels - locations excellent and understand why you use the ones you do. Breakfasts plentiful, staff helpful, bike storage easy really like Saint - Remy hotel the best. Bikes were excellent, so good and we didn’t have any punctures so happy with that too. Notes and app for navigation - took a couple of hours on our ride our of Avignon to Chateauneuf-du-Pape to get the hang of it after a couple of wrong turns but after that , all good and we were on our way.
I have already passed on your details to friends here in Melbourne and we will definitely be looking at other rides (and walks as we are hikers too!) in the future. Thanks so much and keep well over there."

" Loved the historical comments. We walked to most of them. Liked that you highlighted the good ones with stars. We loved Rousillon and it's beauty. Gordes did not have many restaurants open. Avignon is spectacular..too many neat places to pick from. Great selection of side roads for travel. Routes picked were superb.
The highlights for us : Hilltop towns of Gordes and Rousillon and the small roads through the vineyards and olive groves. Very definitely travel with you again. Have already referred friends.Loved the Provence area of France. Exceptionally beautiful."

" The highlights for us : The first day before the planned trip we cycled through Chateu-Neuf-de-Pape vineyards. Luscious smells (pre-harvest). Similar cycling through peach, apple, pear fields. The climb to Les Baux. The climb to Gordes. Great meals overall. BB Magnanerie was really terrific -- room, host, breakfasts.
BB Magnanarie was our favorite among the three. Hosts helpful. Architecture/design exciting. Best breakfasts excellent. Sous les Figuiers was very good -- room was nice, host somewhat helpful (no no complaints on our part), loved the figs. Cloitre Saint Louis was intriguing -- converted from a monastery, I think. Staff were helpful. Breakfast good.
Anniversary dinner arranged by Nadia at La Prevote in Isle sur la Sorgue was exceptional. "

"Thank you for preparing such a wonderful trip— everything was fabulous — accommodations, suggestions, bikes — we had a slight blip this afternoon with weather — we were in gordes and it started raining, lightning, thunderstorms heavily and didn’t let up . We called reception at our hotel and they kindly arranged a taxi that could fit us and the bicycles .  Tanks again for all your assistance and helping make this a wonderful experience "

" Intura does an amazing job of keeping you off main roads and cycling through the quiet countryside was definitely a highlight. The day we cycled Gordes and Roussillon was our favorite day, with Venasque a runner up.
All in all, we were very impressed with the roadbook & GPS directions - we have taken another bike tour and Intura's directions and level of detail were fab!
We really appreciated Olivier at Villa Margot's suggestions of activities in Avignon and he was very responsive in helping us resolve an issue and Philippe was amazing, coming to our rescue on a Sunday! The food tour in Avignon with Julien exceeded expectations. And we wish we had another day to lounge by the pool at Hotel Gounod, our favorite hotel of the trip!
Nadia was amazing from our first contact. Her quick and thorough responses was the reason we decided to book with Intura versus other tour companies we were in contact with. All of the hotels were easy to work with in terms of bike storage and luggage transfers. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Gounod and would stay there again, but they did seem a bit understaffed while we were there"

" Great routes. Had to change my bike from hyrbid to electric so dealt direct with Philippe. He was great, very helpful and sorted it all out for me. Hotel Gournod was lovely and the staff were so friendly and helpful.

" Very good communication before the trip by Intura Travel. And very good to alert us to the fire problems on day 1 of our cycling. Your very comprehensive road book, and GPS maps. Villa de Margot, Bastide de Voulonne and Grand Hotel Henri were all good. The two bikes. The bag transfers. The weather ! Hotel de l'Image had a very small bedroom. 
Everybody we met on the trip was absolutely charming, whether they were in the hotel reception, the restaurants, cafes or shops. It was a delight, especially as all the towns were so busy with tourists. The weather was just amazing, of course, and despite the heat we managed all the rides every day. I can see why you recommended electric bikes, but I am pleased that we went ahead with regular bikes.

Excellent biking paths/small roads, hardly ever cycling on a main road. Excellent food at Jardin d'Ivana.  Lots of markets to visit and buy for a picnic which we did every day! Plenty of information about local history, fun places to visit and local delicacies to try.

"Great cycling. Beautiful. A little hot in July. I think June would be better month if possible to travel then. Road book excellent and easy to follow. Would be better to have all accommodation in towns or villages so easier access to restaurants. Really good."

"The tour was very well laid out and everything went according to plan / schedule ! The recommendations made for hotels and restaurants were also top notch! We loved our trip, thank you! The highlights were the sightseeing and history along the way, coupled with the excellent food and accommodations made this one of our favourite trips! Would you recommend us to ? Absolutely !"

"The lady at the front desk in Hotel castelet was especially friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was amazing and very much enjoyed. Belle de Nuit was lovely and so was the couple but I feel like they are cutting some corners in terms of cost. The towels were thin and felt like sandpaper. The coffee, tea, hot chocolate was tasty and fancy. The actual breakfast was baguette and cubes of processed cheese and second day brioche toast with home made jam. 
You guys (at Intura) did a great job . The special highlights for me were the gorgeous country side. Glad we got 2 ebikes!

"Everything was okay. The special highlights were the trip from Oppede to Isle Sur le Sorgue! Also the last day was fantastic. Dinner at d'Ivana was not optimal, but the hosts and place was great!

" Jardin d'Ivana - superb Provencal food, lovely hosts. Hotel Boquier - lovely, kind host, recommend that a screen be put on the window of the room we were in as mosquitoes were very bad. Philippe - you bike man -  has been great. I got a flat tire, fortunately in Cavaillon, it was cold and drizzling, I was sick, and Philippe came to the rescue immediately to change the tube. We both thank him for his kindness from the bottom of our hearts. With our own bikes we can change flats, but we were a bit concerned about the ebikes. Ebikes were very high quality, and given that I was very sick, I couldn't have done the trip without them. I have done many cycling/hiking trips in France and Europe and felt that a company that was based where we were cycling would have better information, and you did. The route book was excellent, only a couple of suggestions to help with that. 
Would you recommend us to your friends ? Absolutely to both questions - we were only sorry that we hadn't chosen a longer cycling trip. Thank you and our best wishes for your summer season."

" Loved the paths you chose! So beautiful to bike through fields and smell all the lovely flowers and hear the birds. The highlights for us were : biking through orchards and countryside and smelling all the different smells and hearing all the birds. Stopping at a winery and cafes. Loved our hotels and the hosts. Biking with e bikes was amazing. I had an accident last year and required knee surgery and this was a celebration of my recovery. I did it!!!! We will recommend you : Absolutely!!! "

"In general my two favorite days were the loop rides, the one out of St Remy and the one out of Oppede Le Vieux. Lovely side roads, beautiful towns. The highlights of the trip were for us : the side roads away from cars, the beautiful sites, loved biking up to the medieval hillside towns. In general it was a really lovely bike ride/experience. The bikes were generally great. Also was fascinated by the synagogue/Jewish museum in Cavaillon. Sure, I'd recommend you all! "

" All hosts were excellent and we enjoyed all the breakfasts, particularly at Jardin d'Ivana where Ivan and Nadine shared breakfast with their guests. Great to have a pool to enjoy after a day of cycling. The travel kit was very comprehensive. The direction guide was brilliant and we loved the set up with the clear plastic wallet on front of the bikes.The highlights for us were : the descent from Les Baux on day 2, climbing up to the beautiful historic villages (we loved them all!), lunch at Restaurant David in Rousillon and cycling through the fragrant lavender fields on day 5. The bikes were also very good, and handled very well particularly up hills"
